2020 elections annual report available

The Ramsey County Elections 2020 Annual Report is now available through the open data portal. The report highlights activity in the areas of primary and general election voter turnout, absentee voting, voter engagement, COVID-19 impacts, election judges and seasonal staffing.

A record number of voters participated in the three major elections of 2020, including the presidential primary, state primary and general election. A total of 506,757 ballots were cast across all three elections. Ramsey County also set a record for the highest number of ballots cast in a general election at 297,466. The estimated turnout rate for the general election was 77.4%.

Graphs throughout the report provide easy-to-understand visualizations of datasets including:

  • Voting turnout by age.
  • In-person and absentee voting options.
  • Ballots returned by week.
  • Types of engagement activities.

Other features include statistical information about training of election judges and seasonal staff, registration of new voters through engagement initiatives and COVID-19 safety preparations.
