Absentee voting opens June 26 for state primary
Ramsey County voters may vote early by using an absentee ballot in advance of the state primary on Tuesday, Aug.11. Residents can cast their ballot in person or vote by mail from June 26 to Aug. 10.
All voters can vote early in Minnesota. You do not need to provide a reason.
Vote by mail
Voting by mail is safe, easy and convenient.
Once your request is received, a ballot will be mailed to you within one business day along with a pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope for returning the completed ballot materials.
Vote in person
In-person absentee voting is available at three locations. Eligible voters may visit any location, regardless of their home address. Locations include:

- Weekdays June 26 – Aug. 7: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 8: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 10: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The absentee voting site at the Ramsey County Elections Office – Plato Building will open at 8 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
Eligible residents may register to vote or update their address online at mnvotes.org through July 21 for the Aug. 11 primary. Residents may also register at the three in-person absentee voting locations or at their polling place on Election Day. Proof of residence is required.
