Air quality alert includes Ramsey County through Aug. 12

A statewide air quality alert has been issued until Sunday, Aug. 12. Smoke from wildfires in western Canada will affect Ramsey County and the rest of the state throughout the weekend. Unhealthy air quality will most directly affect people in the following situations:

  • People who have asthma or other breathing conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • People who have heart disease or high blood pressure.
  • Children and older adults.
  • People of all ages who are doing extended or heavy, physical activity like playing sports or working outdoors.
