Air quality alert issued for Ramsey County for July 3

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has issued an air quality alert for portions of Minnesota effective Friday, July 3 from noon-8 p.m. The affected area includes all of Ramsey County.

Air pollution is expected to reach a level considered unhealthy for sensitive groups which includes:

  • People who have asthma or other breathing conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • People who have heart disease or high blood pressure
  • Children and older adults
  • People of all ages who are doing extended or heavy, physical activity like playing sports or working outdoors
