Board proclaims May 5-11 as Correctional Officers Week

Correctional officers receiving proclamation from Commissioner Reinhardt

The board of commissioners has proclaimed May 5-11 as Ramsey County Correctional Officers and Employees Week in honor of the nearly 350 dedicated full-time and intermittent correctional officers, sergeants, lieutenants, captains and support staff that work in the Sheriff’s Office and Community Corrections department.

The county's correctional officers, sergeants, lieutenants, captains and support staff provide security and monitoring at the Adult Detention Center (jail), Ramsey County Correctional Facility (RCCF), Juvenile Detention Center (JDC), Boys Totem Town (BTT) and related programs. Their responsibilities and daily actions also help rebuild lives and provide hope and focus by treating, mentoring, training, counseling and teaching inmates and offenders.
