Having conversations about race provides participants with the opportunity to learn about a topic, enhanced by the personal experiences and perceptions of the group. This discussion series will base the conversations on a video or article related to the topic, followed by small group discussions.

March 11: How Race Is Lived in America
In this session, we will discuss How Race Is Lived in America, a New York Times award-winning series of short documentaries based on conversations with people of different races regarding their lived racial experiences.

April 8: The Binary Code of Racism and How It is Learned
In this session, we will discuss how our racial history and biases are passed on to new generations and are reflected in our behavior.

This is an online class offered remotely using Zoom communication software. After registration, participants will receive an email from the library approximately three days prior to class with additional instructions including a link (or URL) that will be used as an invitation to enter the online class. If registering within 72 hours of class start time, expect to receive an email with the instructions and link the morning of the event.
