Community Innovation for Racial and Health Equity Grants launched

Saint Paul – Ramsey County Public Health has multiple grants available for community-led organizations to work on innovative new ways to improve community health. The Community Innovation for Racial and Health Equity grant program will invest up to $30,000 in individual grants for capacity building, planning or implementation for organizations working to address common public health issues.
Grants are available in three areas:
- Vision and capacity building – up to $10,000 for start-up cost, resources and supplies, operation, program design, relationship strategies, short-term development.
- Planning and development – up to $20,000 for community outreach, program delivery, service launch, scoping and refining program/project concept.
- Implementation and evaluation – up to $30,000 for analysis of program/project/service, program intervention, monitoring, qualitative and quantitative assessments, trainings.
All applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Feb. 1, 2023. No applications will be accepted after the deadline. Two Technical Assistance support sessions were scheduled Jan. 4 and Jan. 5 for organizations interested in applying for the grants.
Eligible organizations can receive funding only once per calendar year and must meet the grant criteria determined by Public Health. Grantees must choose to focus on at least one of the eight health priorities identified in Public Health’s Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP): Racial and health equity; healthy eating, active living, and tobacco-free living; access to health care services; mental health and wellbeing; violence prevention; climate change; homelessness; opioid crisis and response.
