County board approves 2017 budget

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners approved a budget of $663,747,760 for 2017 on Dec. 13. This represents an increase of 2.9 percent from 2016.

Commissioners set the 2017 maximum property tax levy on Sept. 20, 2016 at $292,507,660 - representing an increase of 2.8 percent over 2016. Property taxes will continue to make up about 43 percent of revenues in the 2017 budget. 

Public hearings on the proposed property tax levy and budget were held on Sept. 13 and Nov. 28, 2016.
