The county's Public Works department was presented with two awards from the Minnesota County Engineers Association at the Feb. 16 board meeting.

The first award was Project of the Year for the design and construction of the I-694/Rice Street interchange and adjacent intersections. This was a collaborative project with the cities of Little Canada, Shoreview and Vadnais Heights, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Public Works also received the Highway Safety Achievement Award for the 4-to 3-lane conversion study completed in 2020. This study sets a vision and path for addressing the county’s least safe highways.
