Dead Animals

Disposal

Contact your city if you find a dead animal on an alley, boulevard, sidewalk or public property. If the animal is on a road, refer to Road Kill.

Dead animals found on private property are the responsibility of the homeowner to remove. Follow one of these options:

  • Dead animals can be dragged off to an area of the yard to decompose naturally. This will take a couple of weeks.
  • Check if your garbage hauler will take the dead animal.
  • Some local companies may provide wildlife removal services. Check online by searching “Pest Control” or “Wildlife Control Services” to find listings of companies.

You can also bring the dead animal to one of the disposal companies listed below. Call for hours and fees.
