Voices of Our Community Series: Healing through Understanding is a community discussion that provides insight into what mental health means in multiple diverse communities. Speakers from various cultural communities will be presenting perspectives on mental well-being, resiliency and community resources from the African American, Native American, Hispanic/Latino(x), Hmong, East African, LGBTQIA, Karen, and Youth communities. We hope the information provided each month will empower attendees with the tools and resources to continue advocating for mental health on an ongoing basis.

December Speaker: Nasra Suleiman, is a licensed social worker and a case manager for children who live with mental health disorders. She is an advocate for children and their families who have experienced mental health issues in the Somali community by offering insight into different resources. Nasra will speak about the issues, barriers and tools to better support our Somali families around mental health.
