Help improve the county’s hazard mitigation plan and response

Ramsey County Emergency Management & Homeland Security is currently collecting public input to help update the county’s multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan.

The plan is a requirement of the Federal Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 and must be updated every five years in order to maintain eligibility for certain federal disaster assistance and hazard mitigation funding programs.

Ramsey County is vulnerable to a variety of potential natural disasters, which threaten the loss of life and property in the county. Hazards such as tornadoes, flooding, wildfires, blizzards, straight-line winds, ice storms and droughts have the potential for inflicting vast economic loss and personal hardship.

Share your thoughts about public perception and opinions regarding hazards in Ramsey County by completing a short online survey. The survey is open through Thursday, Sept. 30.
