May is National Mental Health Awareness Month

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners proclaimed May as Mental Health Awareness Month in Ramsey County during the May 3 board meeting.

Nearly one in five adults in the United States have a form of mental illness. Mental health affects a person’s ability to maintain good physical health and overall wellbeing.

Mental health assistance

Ramsey County provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, both directly and through contracts with private agencies. People who have insurance, public health care (such as medical assistance), or are without insurance can find help.
