Minnesota Construction Crew holding annual hiring Expo May 4

The Minnesota Construction Crew will hold its third annual Construction Trades Hiring Expo on May 4 from 7-10 a.m. at the Carpenters Union Training Center, located at 710 Olive Street in Saint Paul.

The expo provides an opportunity for individuals seeking a career in the construction industry to meet with more than 35 contractors that are hiring for the 2016 season. Union halls will also be present to answer questions about their trades and apprenticeship training programs. Veterans, women and people of color are encouraged to attend.

The expo is free to attend, and attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their resume.

The Minnesota Construction Crew is comprised of contractors, unions and government organizations. In addition to the spring expo, the group also hosts an annual fall event to help job seekers prepare for the next hiring season.

Job seekers are encouraged to sign up for Construction Hiring Connection, an online talent database used by several contractors to find qualified applicants. Registration is free and also provides access to job postings and resources. Construction Hiring Connection is a program of Ramsey County Workforce Solutions.

The spring Construction Trades Hiring Expo is presented with support from JeDunn Construction, McGough Construction, the North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters and Ramsey County Workforce Solutions.
