Legal Considerations

It is illegal to place automotive oil, filters and most automotive fluids in the trash, on the ground, in water, down the sewer, or in the storm drain.

Disposal

Rags, Floor-Dry, cat litter and other absorbents used to clean up oil spills should be placed in the trash. To avoid spontaneous combustion, place oil-contaminated materials in a metal container with a tight fitting lid.
