Overnight traffic impacts on I-94 at Dale Street June 8-10

Traffic in both directions of I-94 will encounter overnight lane restrictions and temporary closures Monday, June 8 through Wednesday, June 10 between Lexington Parkway and Marion Street in Saint Paul. Construction crews will install beams for the new northbound side of the Dale Street bridge over I-94 as part of the Dale Street reconstruction project.

Overnight lane restrictions on eastbound and westbound I-94 will begin at 10 p.m. on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9. As needed, the Minnesota State Patrol will intermittently stop traffic in each direction for up to 15 minutes at a time between 10:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. while bridge beams are placed.

The lane restrictions and closures will be complete by 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10.

Dale Street – including over the bridge – will remain open to traffic each night.

Motorists should plan ahead for additional travel time and use an alternate route when possible.

Project construction began in mid-March and includes rebuilding and widening the bridge over I-94 – including widening the sidewalks to 16 feet to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists. Construction of the new bridge is expected to be complete by late fall 2020.
