All lanes of Plato Boulevard back open

Jan. 28 update

All lanes of Plato Boulevard are now open to traffic between Wabasha Street and Livingston Avenue.

The source of the water issues on Plato Boulevard has been identified and repaired.

Dec. 30 update

Plato Boulevard has reopened between Wabasha Street and Livingston Avenue. One traffic lane is open in each direction.

Additional site work is expected to take place throughout January.

Final repairs will be completed in the spring, and all lanes will then reopen to traffic.

Dec. 16 update

Plato Boulevard between Wabasha Street and Livingston Avenue in Saint Paul will be closed beginning Thursday, Dec. 19 to repair water issues at the center median and turn lanes near the Drake Bank building.

During the closure, crews will dig up a portion of the roadway to identify and repair the source of the water issues.

An updated timeline – including how long the project is expected to last – will be available once work is underway. Efforts will be made to reopen the road to traffic as soon as possible.

Detour

Plato Boulevard will be closed between Wabasha Street and Livingston Avenue.

Business access will be maintained. Access to the Drake Bank building will be available from westbound Plato Boulevard.

Traffic will be detoured via Wabasha Street, Fillmore Avenue and Robert Street.

Pedestrian access will also be maintained along Plato Boulevard.
