Summer programs for all ages at Gibbs Farm
Gibbs Farm opens for the season on May 25.
The Ramsey County Historical Society will offer new and returning programs during the 2019 Gibbs Farm season. Throughout the summer and into the fall, there will be various events happening on Saturdays and Sundays.
Parking is free for site visitors in the lot on the north end of the site off of Cleveland Avenue. General admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors (ages 62+), $5 for children ages 4-16 and free for Ramsey County Historical Society members.

Ice Cream Sundays
Enjoy ice cream made the old-fashioned way as a delicious treat for the summer at Ice Cream Sundays. Attendees receive free ice cream and the opportunity to experience the beauty of the Gibbs Farm, gardens and prairie. General admission applies, event occurs every other Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from June to August.
Family Friendly Saturdays
This program series features a special topic each week that focuses on the lives and heritage of the pioneers and Dakota who lived here during the early years of Minnesota. Programs are led by costumed interpretive staff or guest presenters and include a brief history. Family Friendly Saturdays occur every other Saturday from June 8 to August 31, with an added October 12 date. Register or see specific topics and program details.
Festival Days
Festival Days will kick off with the Prairie Festival on Saturday, August 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Prairie Festival celebrates the Dakota, Minnesota's first people. An apple festival and old-fashioned Halloween will take place in the fall. Festival Days are included in general admission.
Day camps
Day camps are offered throughout the summer at Gibbs Farm. Children can learn about the Dakota lifestyle, pioneer history, archeology and other subjects. Camps are offered by age group, children ages 4-5, 6-10 and 11-15. Register and learn more about day camps.
