Union Depot to be the "Hub for the Holidays" this December

 

2016 Union Depot holiday treeThe holiday festivities at Union Depot in Lowertown will begin Thursday, December 5 when the North Pole Express rolls into town. The following day, on Friday, December 6, the venue will be transformed into the glittering Hub for the Holidays, when the annual Holiday Tree Lighting takes place. There will be live music and fireworks, the opening of the festive, outdoor European Christmas Market, the free family holiday movie night with a showing of Elf and The Polar Express, and other fun activities for all ages.

The season’s events also include the popular Holiday Bake Sale—a must visit with free admission, an evening with the magical Canadian Pacific Holiday Train, and much more. Nonprofit food shelf Merrick Community Services is the charitable partner for Hub for the Holidays this year. Guests attending the Holiday Bake Sale and Canadian Pacific Holiday Train events are encouraged to bring a monetary or non-perishable food donation to the organization.
