Doctorate Psychology Internship

We have up to six practicum placements to begin in September 2018 at the Ramsey County Mental Health Center.

The full-time internship is 40 hours per week. The part-time practicum placement is between 16 and 24 hours per week, depending on the requirements of the school.

This practicum site provides opportunities for the full array of outpatient services, from individual therapy and weekly groups, to more intensive programs for individuals with mental health and co-occurring concerns. As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, we emphasize a collaborative, holistic, integrative approach to care. As a service to our clients working with other providers within the clinic, we also provide an array of psychological assessments, depending upon professional competencies and the needs of the clients.

Students have the opportunity to learn how to engage in client-centered initial interviews and to write diagnostic assessment reports; to administer and interpret the results of psychological test instruments; facilitate groups; and to learn all of the necessary components to being an effective strengths-based psychotherapist.

All Social Services internships are unpaid and non-benefit earning.
