Registration Information for Saint Paul Landlords

Property owners and managers in the city of Saint Paul are required to provide all new tenants with information about how to register to vote. The information must be provided at the time of move in. The requirement is part of a new Saint Paul Ordinance (PDF) which was approved by the city council on Aug. 8, 2018 and went into effect Oct. 22, 2018.

The Ramsey County Elections Office sent a letter about the ordinance change to all licensed property managers on Oct. 15 that included an informational sheet to provide to new tenants. The informational sheet and optional voter registration applications can be provided to tenants in either printed or electronic form.

Ramsey County updates informational voter registration materials (PDF) annually to landlords to support landlords in fulfilling the ordinance requirements.
