County Road C Reconstruction
County Road C between New Brighton Boulevard and Long Lake Road will be reconstructed. Work will include utility upgrades and placement of new, smooth pavement. A new paved trail will also be constructed along the south side of the road.
Crews began removing the existing westbound lanes the week of June 3.
The project is expected to last through fall.
All traffic is currently shifted to the eastbound lanes (south side of the road). Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction. The lane reductions will last into the fall.
County Road C closed to traffic June 24-28
County Road C will be closed to traffic in both directions between New Brighton Boulevard and Long Lake Road June 24-28 for work at the railroad crossing. Signed detours will be in place.
- Westbound traffic will be detoured via Long Lake Road, County Road C2 and New Brighton Boulevard.
- Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Walnut Street, Terminal Road and Long Lake Road.
Please plan ahead for extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible.
A temporary traffic signal is in place at the County Road C and Long Lake Road intersection.
Business access will be maintained throughout construction. Business representatives are encouraged to share fleet information, business operation needs and travel patterns by phone or email. The project team values this information for planning in order to minimize disruption and maintain business access.
Two nearby projects will also impact traffic in the area:
- The concrete on County Road C between Cleveland and Snelling avenues is being repaired in June and July. The work will also involve upgrading signals and replacing signs.
- MnDOT is installing MnPASS lanes on I-35W North from County Road C to Lino Lakes.
