County Road C Reconstruction
County Road C between New Brighton Boulevard and Long Lake Road will be reconstructed. Work will include utility upgrades and placement of new, smooth pavement. A new paved trail will also be constructed along the south side of the road.
Work on the eastbound lanes (south side of the road) began in early September and is currently expected to last through late fall.
The project is expected to last through late fall.
All traffic is currently shifted to the westbound lanes (north side of the road) while construction occurs on the eastbound lanes.
Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction. The lane reductions will last into the fall.
Please plan ahead for extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible.
A temporary traffic signal is in place at the County Road C and Long Lake Road intersection.
Long Lake Road closure starting Oct. 1
Long Lake Road will be closed to through traffic between County Road B2 and County Road C beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1. The closure is expected to last through late October to allow crews to pour concrete pavement. A signed detour will be posted. Business access along Long Lake Road will be maintained.
Access to business on County Road C will be maintained throughout construction. Business representatives are encouraged to share fleet information, business operation needs and travel patterns by phone or email. The project team values this information for planning in order to minimize disruption and maintain business access.
Two nearby projects will also impact traffic in the area:
- The concrete on County Road C between Cleveland and Snelling avenues is being repaired. The work also involves upgrading signals and replacing signs.
- MnDOT is installing MnPASS lanes on I-35W North from County Road C to Lino Lakes.
