Larpenteur Avenue Resurfacing & Three-Lane Conversion
Larpenteur Avenue between Dale Street and Rice Street in Maplewood, Roseville and Saint Paul will be restriped in 2019 from a four-lane roadway to a three-lane roadway with one lane in each direction and a center left turn lane. Temporary pedestrian crossing areas will also be constructed at the following locations:
- Mackubin Street.
- Cumberland Street.
- Galtier Street.
- Woodbridge Court.
Land surveying crews will be working in the project area before, during and immediately after construction.
In 2020, the pavement on Larpenteur Avenue between Dale Street and I-35E will be improved. The road will be permanently striped as a three-lane roadway with bike lanes. Work will also include minor utility updates, maintenance on the signals at Sylvan Street and Jackson Street and upgrading the existing railroad crossing.
Striping work and construction of the pedestrian refuge areas is expected to be complete the week of Aug. 19.
People who live, work and travel along Larpenteur Avenue are encouraged to share their feedback and experiences with the temporary three-lane striping.
