Energy Park Drive Resurfacing
The surface layer of Energy Park Drive between the railroad crossing (near Raymond Avenue) and Lexington Avenue in Saint Paul will be removed and replaced with new, smooth pavement in 2020. New accessible ramps for pedestrians will be installed between Snelling and Lexington avenues.
The segment of concrete pavement on Energy Park Drive near Everett Court will also be repaired in early summer 2020.
Road layout changes
The project plan includes several changes to the road layout. The striping changes and new bike lanes reflect the goals of Ramsey County's Pedestrian and Bicycle Plan to make the community walkable and bikable for people of all ages and abilities and also support Saint Paul's Bicycle Plan. Bike lanes will assist in creating a safe transportation system for bicyclists, pedestrians and motorists by providing a separated and designated travel space in the roadway.
Everett Court to Snelling Avenue
The road will be converted from four traffic lanes to three and bike lanes will be added. The layout will include one vehicle traffic lane in each direction, a center left-turn lane and one bike lane in each direction.
Snelling Avenue to Lexington Avenue
The road will be reduced from four traffic lanes to two and bike lanes will be added. The layout will include one traffic lane and one bike lane in each direction. The concrete medians will remain in place.
