Each year, Ramsey County establishes federal and state legislative platforms that reflect priority issues for the county as approved by the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners. The state platform includes requests for funds – known as bonding requests – to assist with repairing or constructing facilities that provide a public service or serve as a community resource. Once approved, bonding requests are submitted to the Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) office for possible inclusion in the governor’s bonding recommendations. The governor then presents the recommendations to the legislature to negotiate a final bonding bill.
State bonds benefit local governments by increasing the amount of funding available for facility projects.
The following pages provide information about the bonding requests approved by the board of commissioners. These projects were submitted to MMB for the 2018 state legislative session, and are included in the state platform that was finalized prior to the start of the 2018 session.
