We are looking for people who:
- Have a high school degree, are at least 21 years old and not on probation.
- Have experience in coaching, mentoring, security, military, or residential/educational settings.
- Are great at conflict resolution and de-escalation.
- Value working with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Have availability for 10 shifts per month.
Pay & benefits:
- $22.45 per hour to start.
- Overtime at time and a half over 8 hr. per day and 40 hr. per week.
- Strong possibility of continuing into permanent on-call position.
Schedule
The JDC is a 24/7 operated facility with three shifts available.
- 1st shift: 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
- 2nd shift: 2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
- 3rd shift: 10:30 p.m.- 6:30 a.m.
The work
As an APO, you’ll supervise, mentor and ensure the safety of residents who are 10-17 years old through the day-to-day activities of group, school, gym, health care, intake and release. This position is based at the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) in downtown Saint Paul.
