Air quality alert includes Ramsey County

A statewide air quality alert is in effect until 12 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 3. Smoke from wildfires in Canada is affecting air quality in Ramsey County and the rest of Minnesota. Unhealthy air quality will most directly affect people in the following situations:

  • People who have asthma or other breathing conditions like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • People who have heart disease or high blood pressure.
  • Children and older adults.
  • People of all ages who are doing extended or heavy, physical activity like playing sports or working outdoors.
