Monday, April 4 - Alerts and warnings

Severe weather notices are now more available than ever. Wireless emergency alerts provide tornado warnings and flash flooding on cell phones.

Tuesday, April 5 - Severe thunderstorms, lightning and hail

Thunderstorms can bring multiple hazards - including wind, hail and lightning.

Wednesday, April 6 - Floods

Flash flooding is one of the most dangerous and costly disasters in Minnesota.

Thursday, April 7 - Statewide Tornado Drill Day 

Outdoor warning sirens will sound twice to allow businesses, schools and families chances to practice their severe weather sheltering plans.

  • 1:45 p.m. - Simulated tornado warning to practice daytime emergency plans
  • 6:45 p.m. - Second simulated tornado warning to practice home and evening emergency plans
