Board approves Environmental Response Fund grant recommendations
Today, the Ramsey County Housing Redevelopment Authority approved two grants through the Environmental Response Fund for local development projects in need of site remediation and cleanup. The awarded projects were selected by Community & Economic Development staff and evaluated on the following priorities:
- Significant contamination cleanup.
- Demonstrated project readiness.
- Increase in affordable housing units.
- Increase in jobs.
- Increase in property taxes.
- Located in an environmental justice area (as defined by Minnesota Pollution Control Agency).
Selected projects are expected to be future affordable housing sites, including commercial and industrial space. The combined total award for the city of Saint Paul is $300,000 and the award for suburban Ramsey County totals $75,000.
