Encroachment Inspections Begin in April

Parks & Recreation staff will be conducting encroachment inspections this spring. An encroachment is the illegal use of parks property for private use, including dumping of yard waste, mowing or clearing vegetation and storing personal items or placing structures on county property.

Observed encroachment by staff results in a follow up letter to the adjacent property owner with a timeline for removal and a list of other actions that need to take place for the encroachment to be resolved.

Resources to determine property line boundaries can be found at MapRamsey.

Ramsey County operates seven yard waste collection sites to dispose of yard waste. All sites are free and open to Ramsey County residents.

We appreciate your cooperation in protecting our parks and open space natural areas for public use.
