Juvenile Probation hosts two summer community events to celebrate youth

Ramsey County Juvenile Probation is proud to host their Youth Explosion: A Community Celebration that uplifts justice-impacted youth through creativity, leadership, and recognition for the second year in a row. This year, the celebration expands into two events with the Voices of Resilience: A Community Storytelling Event, taking place on July 16.

Both events are designed to honor the resilience of youth and the transformative stories of individuals with lived experience in the justice system. The storytelling event is grounded in truth-telling, healing, and connection—creating space for community voices to shape a deeper understanding of why we celebrate our young people.

The Youth Explosion event on August 16 is meant to create meaningful moments for justice-impacted youth through youth-centered activities that promote dignity, are supported through accountability, and are uplifted through collective impact. The afternoon event will feature the Community Champions Youth Awards Ceremony, recognizing outstanding youth on probation who are making positive contributions on their journeys. The day will also include vendor resources, stage entertainment, youth-led art, and interactive activities—a full afternoon of joy and purpose.

The mission of Youth Explosion is to create meaningful moments for justice-impacted youth through youth-centered activities that promote dignity, are supported through accountability, and are uplifted through collective impact.

Both events are held with the support of the RECEAT team—Ramsey County’s Community Corrections Racial Equity Community Engagement Action Team—bringing a racial equity lens and supportive engagement for community members. RECEAT and a network of providers and programming partners will also be present at Youth Explosion.
