Press conference regarding non-public-safety traffic stops
Ramsey County Attorney John Choi held a press conference September 8 announcing a joint effort with law enforcement to decrease non-public-safety traffic stops in Ramsey County. In order to rebuild trust with communities of color, redirect law enforcement resources to focus on the greatest threats to public safety, and enhance procedural justice, the County Attorney's Office will decline to prosecute charges arising from non-public-safety stops or searches of vehicles based solely on consent.
