Join us for this free Public Health Presents on Wednesday, June 21.

Dr. Keith Henry will discuss the origins of HIV, the history of the epidemic up to the present, the evolution of treatment and prevention options, and how poverty, racism and stigma remain major obstacles to ending AIDS.

Presenter:

  • Keith Henry, MD, FACP, AAHIVMS, Professor of Medicine, University of MN Medical School

What you will learn:   

  • The origin of HIV.
  • An understanding of the current epidemiology of HIV in the United States and Minnesota.
  • Basic knowledge about current treatment and prevention tools.
  • How social determinants of health impact persons living with or who are at risk for HIV.

The three-hour presentation will include questions and discussion. Continuing education contact hours will be available. Free parking and light refreshments provided.
