Ramsey County and fair opportunities partners share resources at the 2025 Selby Avenue Jazz Fest

On Sept. 13 Ramsey County joined thousands of music lovers, families and neighbors at the Selby Avenue Jazz Fest in Saint Paul for a day of live jazz, food, vendors and community connection. The event offered a meaningful opportunity for the county and its partners to connect directly with residents, raise awareness, and share important resources.

This year, Workforce Solutions, Financial Assistance Services and County Navigators were among the Ramsey County departments at the festival. Visitors stopped by the booths to learn about employment programs, childcare and financial assistance services and how to access a wide range of county resources.

“We are deeply grateful to all our partners and to everyone who stopped by the county’s booths,” said Catrice O’Neal, Director of Workforce Solutions. “The 2025 Selby Avenue Jazz Fest reinforced what we know: when the county and community organizations come together, the result is stronger connections, greater awareness and new opportunities for residents to access support.”

Several Fair Opportunities partners also participated, providing additional support related to employment and services for justice-impacted individuals and families. We Resolve, Repowered, Minnesota Public Defenders and Alpha Emergence shared valuable resources with community members throughout the day.

“Repowered had a great experience engaging with the community and sharing the impact of our organization,” said Jay Grossman, Director of Talent for Repowered. “Partnering with Ramsey County provided an important opportunity to highlight the growing need for strong partnerships and to raise awareness of the increasing needs within our community across many areas.”

The 2025 Selby Avenue Jazz Fest once again proved to be more than just a celebration of music and culture but also a space where partnerships flourished, resources were shared, and community connections were strengthened.
