Ramsey County Declares May 2025 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners declares the month of May 2025 as Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month to celebrate Asian arts, social services, and businesses, and recognize Asian accomplishments so that the cultures, histories, and stories of these communities are seen and heard.

Ramsey County is committed to advancing racial equity while striving to be an anti-racist organization, and acknowledges Asian American, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islander Heritage month celebrates and honors the histories, languages, cultures, and contributions of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI): in Minnesota this includes, but not limited to, Asian Indian, Burmese, Chinese, Cambodian, Filipino, Hmong, Japanese, Karen, Korean, Lao, Native Hawaiian, Thai and Vietnamese ancestry or ethnic origin

The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners, in conjunction with others throughout the United States of America, urges all residents to honor and celebrate the rich collective history by recognizing the accomplishments and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander leaders and associated community members.
