Press conference promoting safe firearm storage and harm prevention

Ramsey County leaders, public safety officials, and mental health advocates gather to highlight the importance of using gun locks and practicing safe firearm storage in recognition of the urgent need to prevent firearm-related suicides and accidental shootings involving children. Firearm suicide remains a leading cause of death in Minnesota and across the nation. Additionally, access to firearms by children too often leads to tragedy. Proper firearm storage — including the use of gun locks — is a proven method to help save lives.
