Old Highway 8 bridge will be reconstructed between 8th Avenue NW and 5th Avenue NW in the City of New Brighton in 2027. Pedestrian and bike amenities will be added to the south side of the roadway.
The project will include installing a multi-use trail on the south side and maintain the sidewalk on the north side of the roadway.
Goals
Improve pedestrian and bicycle mobility and access.
Improve infrastructure by replacing the aging bridge.
Improve pedestrian crossings by reducing the roadway width.
