Mounds View Boulevard Improvements

Mounds View Boulevard between Woodale Drive and and Silver Lake Road will be under construction starting in the fall of 2024 and continuing into 2025.

We will be replacing and updating four traffic signals and installing ADA accessible pedestrian ramps. This project also includes the replacement of some minor drainage infrastructure. 

Selected Contractor: Forest Lake Contracting, Inc.

Goals

• Replace and update aging traffic signals.
• Improve pedestrian safety by upgrading the existing sidewalk to meet current ADA guidelines.

Timeline​

May 

• Edgewood Drive will fully open to traffic the week of May 5. 
• Traffic Signal installation continues at Woodale Drive and will complete mid-May. 
• Traffic Signal and stormwater work begins at County Road I the week of May 5. 
• County Rd I will be closed on the west side of Mounds View Boulevard until mid-May to install new utilities, concrete, and pavement.  
• Traffic Signal installation and utility work will begin end of May at County Road H2. 

June

• Traffic Signal installation work will continue at County Rd H2. 

Traffic Impacts

• County Road I is closed on the west side of Mounds View Boulevard until mid-May, use posted detours. Northbound Mounds View Boulevard is reduced to one lane until Edgewood Drive.
• Northbound and southbound Mounds View Boulevard is reduced to one lane in the work zone 
• Follow detour routes on Silver Lake Road to Co Rd I for businesses.
