Cross-country ski trails begin opening
The first machine-made snow trail of the season is now open for cross-country skiing at the Winter Recreation Area at Battle Creek. The easy 0.6 km trail is in excellent condition and is perfect for new and experienced skiers.
As the weather allows, crews will continue to make snow for additional trails. Visit our cross-country ski page for trail updates.
Ski passes
Ramsey County and the city of Saint Paul uses a mutual ski pass. A daily or annual all-access pass is required to use the trails at the Winter Recreation Area.
Passes may be purchased online and will be emailed to the pass holder. They must be printed or kept on a mobile device and shown upon request of park staff on the trails.
In-person pass sales begin December 1 at the Battle Creek Recreation Center.
Battle Creek Recreation Center
Beginning December 1, the Battle Creek Recreation Center will be open to skiers as a warming space. Restrooms are located in the rec center.
Rec center hours
Monday-Friday 9 a.m .- 9 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Equipment rentals
Ski equipment rentals are available for $12 starting December 1. Rentals are available on a first come, first served basis each Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday.
