Dec. 13 proclaimed Perry Family Farms Day by board
The board of commissioners congratulated Perry Family Farms for its selection as the University of Minnesota Extension's 2022 Farm Family of Ramsey County while also declaring Dec. 13, 2022, as Perry Family Farms Day in Ramsey County.
Perry Family Farms is an urban farm that grows seasonal non-GMO produce using chemical-free and pesticide-free practices located in Little Canada. The Perry family actively farms five local plots and credits several people with helping make their business a success. The entire Perry Family is involved with the farm, with Dan leading the main farm operation, his wife Jessica supporting the cottage foods operation, daughter Maya overseeing worm distribution management and helping Dan at farmers markets, and daughter Samantha serving as lead tomato and cucumber taster.
Commissioner McGuire presented the proclamation with University of Minnesota Extension Regional Director Tammy McCulloch, committee member Ben Kucera and Dan Perry offering remarks.
