Mai Xiong Vang receives employee achievement award
Mai Xiong Vang, a head nurse at the Ramsey County Public Health Center focusing on Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis, was presented with an employee achievement award during the August 1 board of commissioners meeting.
Vang is known for being very effective at whatever she does, has an amazing memory and is very prepared. She takes on many tasks, including:
- Advocating for her patients.
- Overseeing clinic nurses.
- Running a weekly team meeting to check in and talk about operational needs.
- Co-leading case reviews for tasks such as contact investigations.
- Contributing on agenda creation, email correspondence and other communication tools.
- Keeping the team on track for trainings like annual CPR.
Vang completes tasks before she is even asked to do them. For her, it isn’t just about stepping up and taking leadership roles – which she also does – but about doing what her team needs. Whether it’s taking someone’s temperature or making copies, she will do it.
