January 31 2018 Year-end campaign financial reports due for suburban cities and school districts (4:30 p.m.).
May 21 First day to file affidavits of candidacy for school districts and cities with a primary.
June 4 Last day to file affidavits of candidacy for school districts and cities with a primary.
June 6 Last day to file affidavits of withdrawal for school districts and cities with a primary (5 p.m.)
June 28 Begin absentee voting for school district and city primary.
July 23 End of pre-registration for school district and city primary (5 p.m. in person, midnight online).
July 30 First day to file affidavits of candidacy for school district and city offices without a primary
August 2 Pre-primary campaign financial reports due for cities and school districts with a primary (4:30 p.m.).
August 10 Extended hours for absentee voting: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
August 12 Extended hours for absentee voting: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
August 13 Special primary for County Commissioner District 1 – polls open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
August 13 Last day to file affidavits of candidacy for school district and city offices without a primary (5 p.m.)
August 15 Last day to file affidavits of withdrawal for school district and city offices without a primary (5 p.m.)
September 10 Eight-week pre-election report form due—St Paul city and school district candidates and committees (12 p.m.)
September 20 Begin absentee voting for general election
October 15 End of pre-registration for general election (5 p.m. in person, midnight online)
October 22 Two-week pre-election report form due—St Paul city and school district candidates and committees (12 p.m.)
October 25 Pre-general election campaign financial reports due (4:30 p.m.) for suburban cities and school districts.
October 29

Last day to file written request to Ramsey County Elections for a Saint Paul city council write-in candidate (Saint Paul Code, Chapter 31, Sec. 31.05.(c)) 

Early voting begins at Ramsey County early voting locations.

November 2

Extended hours for absentee voting for general election: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

November 4

Extended hours for absentee voting for general election: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

November 5 State general election – polls open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m.
November 12 Certification of filing for campaign financial reports due.
December 5 Post-general election campaign financial reports due.
January 6, 2020 Terms begin for officials elected at Nov 5 general election.
