The SNAP E&T Program assists Ramsey County residents gain essential skills needed to secure and retain employment and economic stability while on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) which helps people purchase the food needed for sound nutrition and well-balanced meals. 

As a SNAP E&T recipient, employment guidance counselors support in job searches. You will also have access to many other employment and training services. SNAP & SNAP E&T eligibility depends on your household income and other criteria. Your county eligibility worker will help give you more information on eligibility.

2017 program budget: $274,954.74

967 Residents served.    204 were placed in employment.    $11.32 was the average hourly wage.

Kenneth ImageKenneth came to Ramsey County SNAP E&T while he was struggling with some personal barriers and working a part-time job at Staples. SNAP E&T provided him with the support and assistance he needed so he could keep his job and continue on the right path.

Through this support, Kenneth increased his work hours at Staples and returned to his career in costume designs. He now has job assignments at the Guthrie Theater and other theaters in the Twin Cities area.
