2018 Program Report: The Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA)

2018 Business Report. Side by Side: Achieving Goals.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) provides the federal funding for Workforce Solutions to operate programming that serves individuals who have been laid off or lost a job through no fault of their own (dislocated workers), unemployed low-income Ramsey County adults, and eligible young adults 14-24 years old who are pursuing education and employment goals.

  • TalentLEAD Program (Dislocated Worker Program) - TalentLEAD pairs experienced employment counselors with eager job seekers who together build training plans and job search strategies that provide the foundation for successful reemployment.
  • Adult Program - provides temporary help with needs such as rent, utilities, car repairs, uniforms, etc. Supportive services are intended to help keep you working, training or looking for work.
  • U LEAD Program - helps our Ramsey County young adults, ages 14-24, prepare for future careers by helping them gain skills, confidence and experience in the world of work.
