Ramsey County establishes new approach to streamline emergency shelter services

Ramsey County has established a new approach to streamline access to services for people seeking emergency shelter. People experiencing homelessness and in need of shelter are now encouraged to directly contact Ramsey County's Shelter Entry and Diversion Team to help them find available resources in community.

This team helps single adults newly seeking shelter identify other resources that could help them avoid the need for emergency shelter, makes shelter reservations for single adults for the coming night, and provides navigation to the best available resources for anyone experiencing homelessness.

Providing a single point of contact for those seeking emergency shelter services is a part of Ramsey County's strategic priority to meet the needs of community to ensure that county services, applications and programs are inclusive, accessible, efficient and provided with exemplary service.
