Ramsey County was chosen as one of nine communities across the nation to receive the 2023 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Culture of Health Prize. The Prize celebrates communities across the country where people and organizations are collaborating to build positive solutions to barriers that have created unequal opportunities for health and wellbeing.

Basham, who currently serves as a Deputy Director for Operations and Partnerships for Vocational Rehabilitation Services at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), will join the county November 13.

An issue with the Ramsey County electronic payment system was identified on Oct. 16. The issue caused some customers who made an online payment between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2 to be charged a second payment on Oct. 13 in the same amount as their original payment.

Maplewood and North St. Paul residents now have a new way to recycle food scraps through Ramsey and Washington counties’ food scraps pickup program.
