Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative (CALL4ALL)
This initiative, known as CALL4ALL, brings together local organizations, community members and the Ramsey County Emergency Communication Center (ECC) to make sure domestic violence support is available to everyone in our community.
We want to help as soon as possible. By offering resources and support early, we hope to prevent more serious issues and reduce harm in the community.
Mission
To provide help for domestic violence that is survivor-centered, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive.
Goals
- Understand community needs — Learn how different cultures see and respond to domestic violence, so we can provide better help.
- Improve access to support — Connect the ECC with community partners and resources to make sure people can find help when they need it.
- Create custom responses — Develop ways to respond that respects each community’s unique needs and values.
What we’re doing
-
Listening to community members — Host focus groups to learn directly from community members about what specific help they need related to domestic violence.
-
Mapping current resources — Collecting information on all the services and support currently available, so we can see where there are gaps and what we can improve.
-
Adding support to the ECC — Our ECC team is adding resources that will help them respond better to calls about domestic violence, even if these concerns are not directly reported.
