An extension plan for Birch Lake Regional Trail, from County Road H2 north to County Road J along Otter Lake Road is being developed. The project goal is to connect the Highway 96 Regional Trail with Bald Eagle Regional Park, with future trail connections to the Chain of Lakes in the Anoka County Parks system. Birch Lake Regional Trail begins at Highway 96 and White Bear Parkway and the existing trail runs to County Road H2. A public open house was held on May 10 at Tamarack Nature Center.
