Rice Creek Watershed District (RCWD) is undergoing a water improvement project at the Long Lake Sedimentation Basin within the Rice Creek Regional Trail corridor between Long Lake Regional Park and Poppy Street in the City of New Brighton. RCWD will be dredging sediments from this basin to improve waterflow and water conditions within Long Lake and Rice Creek. As a result of this project, the water trail will be closed from Poppyseed Drive to Long Lake through September 2022. Signs are posted along the water trail to notify water trail users of portage locations for this section of the Rice Creek Water Trail.
