Make the Most of Summer at Ramsey County Beaches Before the Season Ends

Summer is coming to a close, but Ramsey County’s beaches remain open for residents and visitors to enjoy before the season ends. Featuring sandy shores, lifeguard-supervised swimming areas, and picturesque park settings, the beaches provide a safe and family-friendly environment. As the final weeks of summer approach, community members are encouraged to take advantage of the beaches and enjoy the season’s remaining warm days.

Lake Gervais County Park
Lake Gervais offers something for everybody. This beach is safe to both swim and fish in. There is a park where kids can scoop sand, run and play. The park includes picnic areas and changing facilities with flush toilets, making it easy to stay comfortable throughout the day. Motorized boats are not allowed on this beach. This beach is great for anyone who likes to have picnics while also enjoying the lake's water.

Turtle Lake County Park
Turtle Lake County Park is a good spot for large gatherings and active families. This is an unguarded swimming beach, so children should be supervised. The park has a large playground and includes a playfield with a backstop. This beach has a handicap-accessible flush toilet and a boat launch. There is plenty of parking available, with space for up to 100 cars and 22 boat trailers. The park has a picnic shelter that can be reserved. The maximum capacity for the shelter is 75 people. The shelter includes 12 picnic tables, two barbeque grills, three electrical outlets and a drinking fountain with a jug filler to stay hydrated.

Long Lake Regional Park
Long Lake Regional Park offers an activity-filled beach experience for all ages. Toddlers can enjoy the dedicated sandbox area, and older kids can explore two playgrounds, two volleyball courts, a playfield with a backstop, a fishing pier and a boat launch. There are 32 picnic tables throughout the park and multiple picnic facilities available to reserve. There are two main parking areas: pavilion parking, which allows 100 cars and beach parking for 150 cars.

Lake Josephine County Park
Lake Josephine County Park’s swimming beach includes flush toilets, fishing piers, a picnic area, a playground and a boat launch. Although this park does not have any reservable picnic shelters, it still offers a picnic area to all visitors on a first come first serve basis.

Lake McCarrons County Park
Lake McCarrons offers a swimming beach that includes a sand play area for toddlers, a fishing pier and a boat launch. There are reserved picnic shelters in the park. The capacity of the picnic shelter is 50 people. There are eight six-foot picnic tables, one large grill (36’’x36’’) and a serving shelf with four electrical outlets. Lake McCarrons has parking for 150 cars (three handicap-accessible), eight boat trailer parking spaces, fishing pier and a boat launch.

Lake Owasso County Park
Lake Owasso County Park has a nature playground, a boat launch, picnic tables located throughout the park, a walking trail, open playfield and restrooms. Parking includes116 cars and 24 trailer parking spots. There are rentable picnic shelters. The capacity is 50 people for this shelter. The shelter has eight picnic tables, two grills, a water jug filler and a serving counter with electrical outlets. This shelter is great for casual gatherings or celebrations.

Tony Schmidt Regional Park
Tony Schmidt Regional Park offers a beach building and nearby is a gazebo with four benches and a playfield with a backstop. In addition, there are reservable shelters and pavilions, picnic tables throughout the park, a beach building, a small playground near the pavilion, walking paths within the park, a boat launch and a fishing pier. The park also has a handicap-accessible restroom in the pavilion. Parking is available for 136 cars with 11 boat trailer slots.

Vadnais-Snail Lakes Regional Park
Vadnais-Snail Lakes Regional Park has two lakes. Snail lake is a swimming beach that includes a boat launch, volleyball court, a large playground, biking and hiking trails and a pavilion and picnic shelter you can reserve. Sucker Lake, located within the same park, has two picnic shelters, a small playground, biking and hiking trails and has parking for 115 vehicles. This park offers a variety of amenities, giving visitors multiple options for activities like swimming, hiking, biking or relaxing by the lake.

White Bear Lake County Park
White Bear Lake County Park swimming beach includes picnic tables throughout the park, flush toilets, a boat launch and a playground. There are no picnic shelters available at White Bear Lake County Park.
